Bouncy Ball Animation In Photoshop

Bouncy Ball Animation In Photoshop

Today we learned how to make a circle shape look like a bouncing ball in Photoshop. First we created a new file with theses setting and named it.

Set Up

I made a circle shape using the Elliptical Marquee Tool. By hold down Shift the shape stayed the same as I made it bigger.

I then coloured the shape using the Paint Bucket tool.

Now I duplicate the layer twice, so I have the same shape 3 times.

After that we will use the Transform tool. I Squashed the shapes so they all look different

Finally we can Start the animation.

Animation

I opened the Timeline and selected Create Frame Animation.

I make the duplicated layers invisible for now and work on the original one.

I select the first frame and put the ball on the top of the screen the I create a new frame layer and this time drag the ball to the bottom of the screen.

To make it look like its moving I press the Tweens Animation Frames and add 5 frames in between the ones we made. Now it looks like the ball when from top to bottom.

Now we make it come back up. How to make it realistic? We make another frame and now we turn of the first layer of the full ball and turn on the second ball layer .

I add another new frame from the icon on the Timeline Panel.

I turn on the remaining squashed ball on the Layers Panel. And move it into position.

and then I just reverse the whole process until I have a ball jumping up and down

This is what it looked like in the end

  1. Great! Well done. Nice sequence and it seems to come to a halt. Don't forget to post about what you think of your own work. Do you think you managed to do a good job or do you think you could improve it? Keep up the good work. Steve
